Three days on the Amalfi Coast with Cetara as your base
Three days are not enough to see everything, but they are enough to create a coherent trip: understand Cetara, choose one day on the water and devote the final day to a different landscape or history.
The short answer
The suggested rhythm is: day one in Cetara and at Villa Venere; day two in Amalfi or Positano by sea; day three in Ravello or Pompeii, not both. Actual schedules, season and weather determine the order. Keeping half a day open prevents the stay becoming a sequence of transfers.

Day 1 · Arrive and live Cetara
Keep the first day light after check-in. A walk to the harbour gives you your bearings; a food-shop stop introduces colatura; dinner lets you feel the village rhythm.
If you arrive early, leave luggage as agreed and start in the centre. If you arrive late, the terrace and dinner in Cetara are already a complete plan.
Day 2 · Amalfi or Positano by sea
After checking the timetable, leave from the harbour for Amalfi or Positano. Choosing one gives you time to visit, have lunch and walk without rushing to the next connection.
To see both, confirm the actual-day journey and return. A private boat gives more freedom, but the sailing should remain central rather than serving as a taxi for collecting stops.
Day 3 · Ravello or Pompeii
Ravello completes the coastal journey with gardens, music and views from above. Pompeii changes the scale entirely and brings the trip into ancient history. In only three days, including both creates an itinerary that is too dense.
Weather can guide the choice: Ravello on a clear, temperate day; Pompeii with an early departure and an organised entry time.
Adapting the itinerary
With young children or during the hottest part of summer, alternating outings and rest becomes even more important. If the sea stops ferries, spend more time in Cetara, use the bus to Amalfi or move the cultural day forward.
Four or five nights let you separate Ravello and Pompeii and include a truly free day at the villa.
